![]() It seems there are a collection of red water lakes dotted around the Ha'il region to the North West of the map. This red water lake certainly fits into that category. It can be difficult to know exactly where you are on the map after an hour or-so of driving, and so figuring out what real-world locations you've seen can be a challenging research task. As you drive through the Arabian Desert in Dakar Desert Rally, you'll frequently come across locations that simply blow your mind as to what they are. ![]() This old, abandoned temple in the Tabuk region even allows players to drive through it. The development team behind the official Dakar game has gone to great detail to recreate many of these ruins. As such, it is full of history with countless ruins marking out where large temples used to stand. Despite its emptiness today, the Arabian Desert was once full of people and is a hot spot for historical civilisations. Spend too long in this area and you'll forget which way you came from and where you're going. Navigating through this area is a true challenge, especially when you attempt to turn off the various HUD elements helping you. Dunes fill the picture until the horizon and most certainly carry on past it. In-game, Dakar Desert Rally does a great job at recreating this sense of nothingness. This dune-filled portion of desert expands for as far as the eye can see. ![]() In the real life Dakar Rally event, competitors must tackle to expansive Empty Quarter. ![]()
